Typical Work Day at Secondwind
June 3, 2009
While most kids headed are headed for school earlier this week, we headed for the hills of Rizal.
Neville, PUR team principal, seasoned trail runner, marathoner, ultramarathoner helps Edmond of All Terra to finalize the route of the King of the Mountain race.
While most people do their meetings in board rooms, we did ours outside, at timberland heights.
Make no mistake about the title of the race, as far as we counted, there are 6 uphills.
For everyone’s guidance:
Pls wear trail shoes. Should the current weather continue, your shoes will gather this much dirt
The continuous rains left the ground damp and a bit slippery. Pick out the trail shoe that are:
1.“self cleaning” this means the lugs on the outsole has ample spacing so that mud / dirt can easily be bumped off
2. aggressive lugs – look for shoes that has good grip on the ground
3.reinforced upper – trail shoes that are built for the rugged outdoor, anticipating abrasion, and punishment from the user
There are some parts of the trail which are not compact. They look plain and level, but once you apply weight, you sink for a good half inch.
Glasses or shades are a must; even if you just use the light tint ones. This is more for protection to your eyes and face as twigs and leave will snap or brush against your face.
